After the commercialization of silicone rubber in 1942 by Dow Corning, it has become one of the most important synthetic rubbers due to the excellent electrical-insulating properties, weatherability, and chemical resistance. [1] Silicone rubber meets many of the strict requirements for the rubbers of these days. Additionally, silicone rubber is often used for both high-temperature and low-temperature-use elastomer owing to its good stability in a wide range of temperatures. [2]
