摘要

Polylactic acid (PLA) is a typical example of biodegradable plastics based on monomers produced by fermentation of corns. This bioplastic material displays physical properties close to those of many synthetic plastics in addition to being completely biodegradable to carbon dioxide,water,and humus-like matter. In addition to its excellent physical and mechanical properties,PLA can be processed using existing machinery with only minor adjustments.
