To obtain a technology package of semi hydroponics system for vegetable (chili, okra, eggplant, sweet pepper, and green pakchoy), an experiment was conducted in the screen house in Malang, East Java, Indonesia from June 1997 to March 1998. The treatment was growing medium with four factors, namely: (A) Mixture of husk, soil, and manure at ratio 1:1:1 in a polybag with no tray, (B) The same mixture as A with a tray, (C) Wooden coal in a polybag with no tray, (D) The same as C with a tray. In this research a Complete Randomized Design was used with three replications and with 10 samples for each factor. The results showed that green pakchoy was most profitable, both hi dry and wet seasons, when grown in the medium of wooden coal in a polybag with a tray. The eggplants were most profitable when planted in the mixture of husk, soil, and manure at ratio 1:1:1 placed in a polybag with no tray (in dry season) and in the medium of wooden coal (in wet season). Okra, chili, and sweet pepper were not profitable in all treatments. Among the three, sweet pepper was the worst as this crop was not adaptive to the local environment.
