Quality inspection, monitoring, and control of surfaces is necessary for many branches and applications in metalworking industry However the visual inspection of three-dimensional surfaces still causes problems if concrete requirements referring to speed, reliability, or automation are given. This paper presents some optical methods, designed for fast and flexible statistic recognition and error defection on different materials.
