摘要

Laser ablation is a powerful analytical technology for directly characterizing the elemental composition of environmental waste samples. In this work prototypic waste-glass samples were ablated and the composition was analyzed using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Several parameters that influence accuracy and sensitivity of the method were studied in this work, and include laser properties, transport efficiency of ablated mass to the inductively coupled plasma torch, and optimization of the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer. An overview of these properties and characterization of prototypic glass waste is presented. A good agreement between the semi-quantitative ana1ysis obtained in this laboratory compared to reference data on these glasses was demonstrated.
