MILLENNIUM METHODS OF FABRICATING AND JOINING THERMOPLASTICS

There are several thermoplastic welding processes that are utilized in today's plastic fabrication industry. This paper reviews the processes of hot gas hand welding, hot gas extrusion welding, butt welding, and bending. These processes, when performed correctly, provide a fabricator the ability to join thermoplastic materials in a way that is structurally sound and leak free. Special focus will be placed on equipment, preparation of tile material, and technical aspect of the processes.
