The objective of this study was to determine whether human expertise can be reliably used to evaluate manual handling activities. Five health and safety professionals "HSP" and five graduate students "GS" participated in the study. The findings indicated no significant differences between the two trials elapsed by a one-week period. Based on the results, however, it is felt that the amount of information evaluated may have a significant impact on the reliability of the data collected. An alternative approach and other results are discussed.
