Having listened to a day's presentations and discussions at the workshop, I have learned a lot about the new information and technology concerning protection of mountain ecoenvironment in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River, which are very informative. As I am from a macro-economic management department, I would like to make some general comments from a macro point of view, perhaps a perspective different from other participants. My comments combine eco-environmental issues with economic development. 1. First of all, consideration must be given on combining Eco-environmental development with local economic development,. Only in this way, the Road of sustainable development is feasible. 2. Ecological environment protection must implemented in accordance with local conditions and reality; assumptuous administrative orders should be prevented. 3. Eco-environmental construction must be based on ecological compensation mechanism and correctly evaluation of the performance of government officials.
