The aims were to look at all existing regulations including those produced for the Airplane under 9625 vol 1 and harmonise, rationalise and modernise them as appropriate: The intent was to keep the requirements focused but not to be more prescriptive than necessary. The focus tended to fall on display systems as this is the area of greatest change. Image Generators have advanced significantly, making some checks superfluous but increased speed and capability has been taken into account. Tests have been added for HUD and EVS systems. Helicopter specific effects such as downwash have been added.
