KEY TO REBIRTH OF KANSAI AND CORE COMPETENCE OF THE STEEL INDUSTRY

Manufacturers and Osaka City have taken some concrete steps to revitalize Kansai. One of their main projects is USJ and urban entertainment and media district with high economic impact of induced product. Such global environment measures as co-generation and district heating & cooling have been taken. The software of multi-media is expected to be transferred to Osaka from US contents industry through USJ. USJ can prosper only through the industrial linkage which creates the economic base of community. The steel industry provides management resources and capital to create new industries and plays a role of catalyst in forming a community while maintaining core competence based on high productivity.
