Mechanical properties of recycled PET bottle with fillers

This paper is concerned with the material recycle of PET bottle by injection molding process. Test samples were made from recycled PET pellet added various fillers (glass fiber, glass beads, crushed polydiallylphthalate, crushed perlite and crushed glass bottle). The tensile and flexural properties of recycled PET added glass fiber increased, however, the charpy impact value decreased with increasing the glass fiber contents. By using another fillers, these mechanical strength decreased, however, these modulus increased. Furthermore, the thermal resistance was improved by glass fiber and crystallization. These results suggest that the injection molding of PET added fillers is one of the effective method of recycle PET bottles.
