摘要

The purpose of hot forming process for tool steel such as hot forging and hot rolling is to form the material close to the final shape and dimension and to improve the mechanical properties of the final product through grain refinement and uniform carbide distribution. Mechanical properties of products strongly depend on the microstructure. Hence acquisition of the microstructural evolution kinetics is an unavoidable step in hot forming processes optimization. SKS31 is a cold-work tool steel with high hardness and wear resistance derived from high carbon and modest alloy contents. Since the microstructural evolution of SKS31 during hot forming is not clarified yet, a series of compression tests, inverse analysis to obtain flow curves, micrography of compressed specimens and regression analysis of coefficients in material data were performed.
