Arrayed V-shaped hot-film shear stress sensors for active feedback control of wall turbulence were developed with the aid of the microelectromechanical (MEMS) technology, and their response was examined in a turbulent channel flow. The turbulent statistics obtained are deteriorated due to the finite spacing between hot films, uneven characteristics among sensors, and the imperfect frequency response of the sensor. However, the characteristics of the near-wail coherent structures, such as the meandering of the low-speed streaks are successfully captured.
