Arch-shaped metal corrugated shell roof is a new type of space structure in China. Because it has many advantages such as small amount of steel, low cost, very short construction period and so on, it is widely used in China Now. However collapse accidents happened many times during the normal work state. Engineering technique experts put forward a lot of different views for the mechanism of bearing load of the structure. In this article the structure is analyzed using nonlinear finite element method considering the effect of corrugation. The research on diagram of load-displacement shows its work character. In order to improve the performance of the roof, Xu Guobin invented a new type of shell roof-arch-shaped metal no corrugated shell roof. The comparison between arch-shaped metal corrugated shell roof and arch-shaped metal no corrugated shell roof is made in this article to study the effect of corrugation. The research result indicates that corrugation severely decreases the carrying capacity of corrugated shell roof. Finally the shape-forming theory and construction of arch-shaped metal no corrugated shell roof are introduced in the article.
