Management of yellow vein mosaic virus disease of pumpkin

Yellow vein mosaic is a very common and destructive disease of pumpkin reported from many parts of India. It was first reported by Vasudeva and Lai (1943) from Delhi and later reported from many parts of India. It is transmitted by the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci Genn. This serious disease of pumpkin, not only inflicts drastic reduction in fruit yield, but also impairs fruit size and quality (Varma, 1955a). The present investigation explores the possible ways for the management of this dreaded disease of pumpkin.
