摘要

Schafer and coworkers has reported interesting foundationthat ring-enlarged and homologated α,β-unsaturated enones were mainly obtained from the electroreduction of ethyl gem-trichloroacetate and benzylidyen trichloride in the presence of carbonyl compounds using a divided cell equipped with mercury pool cathode under the constant potential electrolysis conditions, respectively. They made a proposal that 2-chlorooxiranes would generate as the intermediates in their reactions, which may transformed to the final products under the reaction conditions . We have been much interested in synthetic utility and the intermediacy of 2-chlorooxiranes which would be unstable to acid and base catalysts under the electrolysis conditions using a divided cell.
