摘要

The solution nature of the sol-gel process offers a convenient means for dispersing carbon nanotubes and having them serve as the electrically conducting network in a reversible lithium cathode.Vanadium oxide was selected as the cathode material not only because of its excellent intercalation properties,but also because its characteristic ribbon morphology matches the dimensional scale of the carbon nanotubes.The resulting electrodes exhibit enhanced lithium capacity,especially at high rates,as compared to conventional composite electrodes.
