It is shown theoretically and experimentally, that laser nonlinear amplitude-detuning characteristchics have specific features, which are determined by a relationship between the frequency of loss modulation and fundamental resonance frequency ofthe laser. The accompanying phase modulation usually leads to the appearance of an asymmetry in the amplitude-detuning characteristchics i.e. the laser output and dynamical regimes depend on the sign of cavity detuning. The shift of maxima of the laserresponse from the center of the gain line can be used to control the lasing frequency at these points.
