Auditory Information Acquisition by Elderly Drivers (2nd report) Effect of radio listening on acquiring auditory information

摘要

The 1st report clarified that it was difficult for elderly drivers to acquire the multiple auditory items in short time and segregate the auditory signal from background noise. Therefore it was assumed that they might fail to obtain the auditory information when they were listening to the radio. The authors conducted indoor experiments to examine such a situation and revealed that elderly drivers were more easily distracted by radio listening than young drivers.
