Advanced compact water-tube boiler with JAFI combustor

摘要

This paper begins with a very brief review on the working principle of the tube-nested combustion, which is referred to as the JAFI concept. The concept makes it possible to construct seemingly furnace-less boilers burning clean gaseous fuel. Elimination of the bulky traditional furnace brings about drastic reduction in the boiler size. Processes in the JAFI combustor improve combustion to reduce NO{sub}x. Then are presented the principle and the construction of a new type of water-tube boiler with a JAFI combustor. The advanced boiler with JAFI combustor is further smaller. Progress in thermal and hydraulic studies on the process in the JAFI combustor is also presented.
