The tissue disposition and residue depletion of oxytetracycline (OTC), flumequine (FLU), amoxycillin (AMX) and thiamphenicol (TAP) were evaluated after in-feed administration in sea-bream under field conditions. OTC was administered at 75 mg/kg b.w./day for 14 days, FLU at 12 mg/kg b. w./day for 5 days. Muscle, skin, bone, and liver were sampled at different time intervals during and after treatment. The analytical methods involved were HPLC, except for AMX analysed by radiobiological Charm 11 Test. The results show a scanty distribution of AMX in tissues and a prompt depletion. FLU and OTC reached the highest concentrations in bone and skin, and FLU disappeared from edible tissue (muscle) more rapidly than OTC. TAP levels showed a decreasing pattern of distribution, i.e. liver, skin and muscle, and the quickest depletion times of all the drugs tested.
