Black dyes for anodized aluminum: properties applications

Black is the most important and popular dye used in the anodizing industry. Because there are so many different black dyes with a wide range of properties, many anodizers have difficulty deciding which is best for their particular application. Therefore, in an effort to increase the dye knowledge of the anodizing community, several black dyes have been evaluated to determine individual properties and preferred applications. Some of the topics discussed include light and heat fastness, contamination and dyeings of thin films, hardcoat and castings.
