Output characteristic of Er:YAG laser

Er$-x$/:Y$-3$MIN@x$/Al$-5$/O$-12$/ is one of the new type laser materials. The output characteristics of the Er:YAG laser pumped by flashlamp and the influence of resonator length to the output characteristics are performed. The threshold energy is 192 J and the highest output energy is 425.6 mJ. It is discovered that the threshold energy would fall and the slope efficiency would rise when the resonator length shortening and can be proved that this phenomenon is due to the consuming absorb by the moisture in the air.
