摘要

Vehicle cruising speed is considered influenced by the vehicle usage or the driver behavior. In order to take into account impact severity in collisions due to such speed effect, new analytical method was developed by use of the statistical accident data. Analysis was carried out for the passenger cars in frontal impact. And, wearing seatbelts for the rear seat occupants was found effective both for reducing severity toward occupants themselves and for avoiding additional injuries toward occupants in frontal seats.
