Though HCCI engines for stable use have problem for high load operation, supercharging is believed to be one of the solutions for the higher load. In this series of research, we developed a new high-efficiency turbocharger suitable for the natural gas fueled HCCI engine, and verified the full load operation by the turbocharged HCCI with higher thermal efficiency over 43%. This paper focused on the 1-D cycle simulation for predictions of the HCCI engine performance with including an empirical HCCI combustion model, which can simulate the drastic combustion changes accompanying with the engine operation changes. It helped the turbocharger designs prior to the experiments with using the turbocharged multi-cylinder engine.
