Electric transmission for hybrid electric vehicles enables continuously variable transmission by combining differential gears and motors. The developed new system uses two differential gears as high and low gear ratios and required motor power can be reduced. First, the control methods of this system are described including CVT operation and motor drive with required drive torque. Second, Transmission loss os the system in 10-15mode is simulated. The simulation shows that the loss of the system is 30% lower than the system using one differential gear as high gear ratio.
