We report for the first time data transmission at 11 Gb/sec through 100m of low loss (33dB/km) perfluorinated graded index plastic optical fiber using inexpensibe, uncooled, unisolated, Fabry Perot lasers at 1.3μm and a simple InGaAs pinphotodetector.
