Acid deposition remains a potentially seious ecologicla porblem in Europe.COnsidered as one of the causes of forests dying and ddecline in fish populations in mountian streams,this pollution is primaily due to the loong-range transport of acidic species (H_2SO_4 and HNO_3) stemming form the SO_2 and NO_x emissions.
