A multilaryer lead titanate ceramic film was prepared on the surface of NiTi shape memory alloy by thre-estep method which has been developed to ameliorate the adhesion to the substrate. XRD characterization confirmed that the outer film was the tetragonal pervoskite phase. EDX measurements provided that the ratio of Ti/Pb changed gradually. The root-like structure was observed obviously acorss the interface between the ceramic film and the substrate by SEM, and analogous morphology was noticed among the ceramic films as well. Scroatch test indicated that the interface adhesive strength of the multilayer film was improved significantly.
