In this research, we tried to use an organic base, triethylamine, as the reaction promoter to prepare metal ions contamination-free suspensions of silver nanoparticles for ink jet printing. We also found that using thiosalicylic acid (TSA) as the protecting agent, highly concentrated and stable silver nanoparticles suspensions could be prepared when an excessive amount of triethylamine was added to form an amine salt.
