Recent developments in Germany for establishing traceability structures for chemical measurements are reported. The existing metrological dissemination system provided by the German Calibration Service (DKD) is applied also to chemical measurements. This is a logical extension of a traceability mechanism successful in general metrology, to metrology in chemistry, a rapidly developing new metrological subject field. DKD-based traceability structures in electrochemistry, clinical chemistry and gas analysis are described.
