The choice of the flow stress functionfor numerical simulation of plastic formingprocesses decides about the extent of consistencyof obtained simulation results with the values ofparameters occurring in industrial processes. Fivebasic groups of this function have been separatedin respect to the parameters, describingconditions and the course of the strain and theinitial state of the deformed material, consideredin the flow stress function. The criteria havebeen established that should decide about thechoice of the group, from which the flow stressfunction should be chosen, for simulation of aspecific process of plastic forming.
