Development of hot-rolled formable steel having a yield strength of 700 MPa

As a supplement to the existing Ympress -series of hot rolled high strength low alloy formablesteels Hoogovens has added a new high strength grade with a minimum tensile strength of 760MPa (1 10 ksi) and a minimum yield strength of 700 MPa (100 ksi) in combination with a goodstrain value. In the paper the results of the preliminary laboratory research as well as results of theproduction trials in the hot strip mill will be discussed.
