Recent trends in packaged steam generators

Several developments have taken place during the last decade in the engineering of packaged steam generators. The concept of custom designed boilers is gaining ground. Refractory lined furnaces have been replaced by completely water cooledfurnaces. Use of modular designs for large capacity boilers and convective type of superheaters versus radiant designs are some of the other trends. The paper describes these developments and the significant benefits to the end user.
