A study of the injector's position for a fuel-injection S.I engine was conducted with the aid of aumerical method called the finite-volume method, which is employed to solve the Navier-Stokes equations. Several two-phase flows in theinlet manifold are siumlated and the influences on fuel atomized and mixed with air havebeen investigated, comparing the different positions of the fuel injector. The results have been verified yb employin gthe bench tests. According to the analysis, an improvement of the injection performance in a running engine has been achievede.
