A new column/dot inversion drive system provides a flexible and economical 10V AM-LCD source drive solution which is suitable for many panel resolutions. The image quality provided by this system makes it ideal for monitor replacement applications while the low power and low cost make it suitable for use in notebook PC applications. The system consists of a family of 6-bit high-voltage source drivers and a high-voltage buffer amplifier IC. The source drivers have many features for EMI reduction and are available in several versions for both TCP and COG applications. This system has a unique architecture which results in a very simple, power-efficient and cost-effective AM-LCD panel drive solution.
