The sintering of a mixture of tungsten carbide and cobalt powders has been simulated using ABAQUS finite element code. The mechanical behaviour of the material was described by linear viscous constitutive equations, whose parameters had been estimated from free sintering and sinter-forging experiments. Green compacts of various geometries and realistic density fields have been considered. For each one, shape changes, which have been numerically obtained, are shown and compared with the final characteristics of the real sintered part.
