MONASH-MRF: A MULTIREGIONAL, MULTISECTORAL MODEL OF THE AUSTRALIAN ECONOMY

MONASH-MRF (MMRF) is a multiregional, multisectoral model of the Australian economy. Earlier regional models of the Australian economy have been confined to tops-down models, single-region models or two-region models. MMRF uses the bottoms-up approach to model the economies of the six States and two Territories. This paper describes the bottoms-up approach to multiregional, multisectoral modelling and gives a brief overview of the structure of MMRF. An illustrative application of the model is also presented.
