It has been generally found that the performance of waterborne pressure-sensitive adhesives (wb-PSAs) is inferior to that of their solvent-based counterparts. On the positive side, polymer colloids offer a facile means to tailor the structure of adhesive films at the nanometer length scale through control of the particle nanostructure and packing.
