Exact graft (co)polymer is an ideal graft copolymer, in which molecular weights of the backbone and branch chains, distance between the branch chains, and number of the branch chains along the backbone chain, are perfectly controlled. Unfortunately, however, most of the graft copolymers so far synthesized are not completely controlled in structure with respect to these variables. We have recently succeeded in synthesizing such exact graft (co)polymers having up to five branch chains by developing new iterative methodologies using living anionic polymers. Detailed synthesis and results w i l l be introduced.
