Active noise control (ANC) is based on a principle that one geenrates artificially an antifield to destructively interfere with the undesireble nosie field.It prvides certain advantages over the pasive apporahc.This study foucesses primarily on the development of an ANC technoiqeu for enclosed gaussian noise fields,based on the linear quadratic Gaussian (LAG)~2 algorithm in conjunciton with the independent modal space contorl (IMSC)~3.The ocntorl actions are taken in the modal space due to the simplicity of the controller design.In theory ,one can control the entire systme by contorling the infinite number of modes of the systme.In practices,one is only ablke to contorl low-frequency modes,e.g.,below the Schroeder's cutoff rrequnecy,where modal decompoisition is measningful.
