Experimentally observed heat transfer of the natural convection from a row of heated, parallel vertical flat plates of the aspect ratio 0.5, 1.0 or 2.0, viz. 50mm height(H) × 100mm width(W), 100mm × 100mm or 200 × 100mm, placed in an air cavity with the spacing interval P=5mm and with the gap C=0.5mm~∞ between the vertical wall of the cavity and the side edge of the plate can be expressed well by a correlation equation of the mean Nusselt number evaluated by the calorimetry with the Rayleigh number, ratio r/H and ratio H/W obtained by introducing new characteristic length r defined as 2P(1+2C/W)
