Polycrystalline Zn$-x$/Cd$-1$MIN@x$/S/CuGaSe$-2$/ thin film heterojunction solar cells were prepared by laser evaporating CuGaSe$-2$/ onto sprayed Zn$-x$/Cd$-1$MIN@x$/S films. The reasons for the low efficiency of the cells were discussed in view of the poor performance of the device for x $GRT 0.6. The photovoltaic properties of the cells were studies using illuminated I -V characteristics. A maximum efficiency of 4.9% was obtained on the cells.
