At the E.O.Paton Electric Welding Institute a method of centrifugal electroslag casting of billets close by shape and sizes to the ready parts has been developed. Mechanical properties of electroslag castings meet the requirements specified to forgings. The new technology is used in the prefabrication machine-building industry.
