This paper presents a generalized equivalent circuit model developed using data analytics to achieve a parameterization that depends only on basic information on cell geometry and chemistry. The resulting model is independent from experimental data, yet able to provide a reasonable prediction of the cell voltage for transient current input profiles. The generalized model was simulated over two drive cycles typically seen in automotive applications for a NCA cylindrical cell, and the voltage response and heat generation were compared to a high-fidelity electrochemical model previously validated on experimental data collected from the same cell.
