Effects of ethanol on the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease

摘要

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is an age-related neurodegenerative disease associated with cognitive decline and memory loss.It has been shown that alcohol drinking affects the mechanisms of neurodegeneration in patients with AD.This paper reviews the effects of alcohol on major factors involved in AD pathogenesis,including the formation and aggregation of beta-amyloid,posttranslational modulation of microtubuie-associated proteins,induction of oxidative stress and degeneration of acetylcholine system.
