The ways of increasing the accuracy of accounting for the influence of the Earth's atmosphere on the results of distance measurements realized by lasers on the near-Earth traces are discussed. It is shown that it is possible to increase the accuracy of determining the mean integral refractive index of air, which accounts for the decrease in the velocity of laser radiation propagation in the atmosphere in comparison with the speed of light in vacuum, using a gradient method that generalizes the known method of point approximation.
