摘要

The nature of universities as academic organizations demands a harmonious teaching-learningenvironment conducive for research and community service roles of lecturers. However, literature hasrevealed that conflicts abound in Nigerian universities;;these conflicts pose challenge to research andcommunity service functions of lecturers. The study investigates the influence of lecturermanagementconflict on job performance effectiveness of university lecturers in Cross River state, withregards to research and community service. One research question and one research hypothesiswere formulated to guide the study. The population comprises 1, 369 lecturers. The stratified samplingtechnique will be used to select the sample of 240 university lecturers. The survey research design willbe adopted for the study. Data for the study will be collected using the Organizational Conflict,Community Service and Research Effectiveness Questionnaire (OCCSREQ). The data will beanalyzed using One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistical technique. Appropriaterecommendations are made from the result of the analysis.
