(623) LEARNING FRENCH LANGUAGE AND DELF EXAMINATION IN “PRE FRANCE PREPARATION ENGINEERING PROGRAM”: A PREREQUISITE TO FURTHER STUDY IN FRANCE

Pursuing a tertiary study in a country using a new medium language (non-English) is definitely achallenge for Malaysian students. Through “Pre France Preparation Programme” offered in UniversitiKuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI), it opens a great opportunity for Malaysianstudents to further their study in higher learning institutions in France and is becoming increasinglypopular as reflected by the constant rise of Malaysian-French Education partnerships and mutualagreements. This paper serves two primary purposes. Primarily, it aims to present “Pre-Franceprogramme” structure focusing on the program structure taught in French course. This Frenchintensive foundation course, together with the technical science subjects are necessary to bridge thegap and helps the students to attain and integrate the level required for the field of study they havechosen in France. The second part is to present the current student's achievements in their FrenchDELF examinations for level A1 until B2 during their twenty months preparation program in Malaysia,gathered from 2006 until 2013 student's intake. The good achievements have proved to be a greatadvantage in further simulating the real classroom environment in France.
