It is increasingly recognized, that structured and regular curriculum renewal is an essential element ofmodern medical education, and therefore requires specialist academic educationalists and aspecialized unit to lead on developing and embedding, requires modernizing to more authenticcompetency-based learning styles with greater relevance to clinical practice. In this regard, EUsupport opened significant opportunity to DTMU to modernize its system-based MD programcurriculum through implementation of PBL and case-based learning in it (modern trend in MedicalEducation). DTMU participates in EU-funded TEMPUS project “Establishment of the Supra-RegionalNetwork of the National Centers in Medical Education, focused on PBL and Virtual Patient” (ePBLnet).We needed program development to shift our educational process from inner circle (performance oftasks) of the “three circle model representing educational outcomes” towards outer circle(professionalism). Thus aiming to prepare young doctors for practice in increasingly complexhealthcare scene with changing patient and public expectations, and increasing demands fromemploying authorities. Paper presenting creation our opinion based on literature review and ownexperience regarding some actual aspects of PBL and its implementation in MD program.
